The Department for Education guidance for the full reopening of schools in September 2020 has just been published and we are now busily working through every detail so we can formulate a safe, comprehensive and of course, fully compliant plan of action. We cannot wait to see ALL your smiling faces again and we will provide details for the start of the academic year just as soon as we can. Please bear with us just a little longer! Thank you as ever for your patience and support.

Welcome to Northcott Class
Hello Northcott!
I hope you and your families are well.
I just wanted to thank all of you who have submitted work though Wonde.  It has been an absolute pleasure to see what you have been up to without me!  If you haven't already then log into Wonde and see what activities there are.
Stay safe everyone and I hope yo see you all soon.
Mrs Gibson
Below you will find some important information that you need to know about Northcott Class.
PE takes place on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.  This term we are learning aboutTennis and Basketball so please ensure your PE kit is in school.
Homework is issued weekly: set on Monday, handed in on Friday.   This homework will include: spellings, times tables and a VIPERS task which should be presented in your child's Reading Journal.  Please could you offer support with this at home; should this not be possible, I run a lunchtime club on a Wednesday in Blackrock class, so the children can complete this then.
Children must have their reading book and reading diary in school everyday.   At home, we would ask that children read to an adult at least 4 times a week and that the adult records this in their child's reading diary.   Diaries are checked every Friday morning and should a child complete 4 reads, they receive a prize from the box!
I am always available should you need to discuss anything or there is something you would like to ask.  Just pop in or email me to arrange an appointment.

Gods and Mortals
From nothingness came chaos; from chaos came air and water; from air and water came life. Then, rising majestically from the darkness, came Gaia, Mother Earth, a beacon of warmth and light.
In our next topic, we will discover a fantastical world full of mythical creatures and legendary heroes. Poseidon, Apollo, Artemis and Zeus reign almighty from Mount Olympus, watching mere mortals on dusty Athenian streets. Meet Theseus, the hero, and Helen of Troy, the beautiful face that launched a thousand ships. We will explore the terrains of Greece, where in pure blue skies, the Sun scorches waxen wings and melts the fortunes of Icarus and Daedalus. Then you will decide your own fate when a mysterious box is found and stirs your curious mind.
Due to this period of school closure, all topic information is included in the Home Learning Packs sent out by the school. This is now focused on small weekly mini-topics.
